Alternatives to commonly played songs for walking down the aisle during the wedding ceremony (processional).

As guests are being seated, prelude music will play. When it comes time for the wedding party to walk down the aisle, it is time to play processional songs.

When selecting songs for your wedding party, think of who you want to walk down the aisle and the specific order.

The Traditional Order of Processional from First to Last:

• Mother of Bride (Marrier’s Mother)

• Mother of Groom (2nd Marrier’s Mother)

• Grandparents of Bride (Marrier’s Grandparents)

• Grandparents of Groom (2nd Marrier’s Grandparents)

• Groom (Marrier)

• Officiant

• Wedding Party (Bridesmaids with Groomsmen -or- Bridesmaids only with Groomsmen walking with the Groom)

• Maid/Matron of Honor and Best Man

• Ring Bearer

• Flower Girl

• Bride and her Father (2nd Marrier solo -or- 2nd Marrier with father figure/Mother figure)

Typically, the 2nd marrier (bride) who walks down the aisle will have his/her own song and the others will walk to their own song. If you are stressed about selecting songs, you should only need 2 maximum for the processional.

If you choose many processional songs, consider how they will blend together. Having a mishmash of songs may lack continuity in your ceremony.
